How Our Weighted Blanket Reviews Work:

Using weighted blanket reviews is a great way to help you decide which brand and blanket is right for you. But, it’s also important you understand how the blanket has been rated.

You’ll want to know whether the review is based on customer opinions and whether the reviewer is qualified to give their opinion. You’ll want to be sure the reviews are unbiased and fair, too.

Every weighted blanket we check goes through a rigorous review process. Our sleep experts carefully research each brand. The best weighted blanket for you isn’t necessarily the most expensive nor the cheapest. It’s the ones that offers the overall best buy.

We check weighted blanket customer reviews to see what people are saying after using the blanket for a while. We research the company behind the blanket as well as their construction methods and materials to score the quality of their product.

We check on the range of products they have available so we can be sure they have something suitable for the vast majority of people.

Only after this process is complete do we arrive at our final score so we can give our overall rating. This then decides which of the blankets we’ve checked comes out on top in our weighted blanket reviews UK.

All of this means you know you can trust our expert’s opinions when choosing your weighted blanket.

At-A-Glance Ratings:

Need a bit more information to make your decision? As well as clicking through to read our full weighted blankets reviews, we’ve also summarised our key findings for each brand below:

#1 – Mela Comfort (Our Rating = 9.4)

Mela Comfort Review

Probably the best weighted blanket in the UK at the moment, Mela Comfort are creating quite a fanbase.

We love this blanket as it just oozes class without having a particularly high price tag. That’s impressive because they only use really high quality materials so you know the blanket will stand the test of time.

The carefully distributed glass pellets provide an excellent ‘all over’ weighting that is like a perfect hug. Plus, you can feel good buying it too as they donate a proportion of their profits to charity.

They only downside is that while they are extremely cozy in cooler months, they can get a bit warm on the hottest days. This is an issue with most weighted blankets though so is somewhat unavoidable.

#2 – Sommio (Our Rating = 9.1)

Sommio Reviews

If you want plenty of choices when choosing a weighted blanket, Sommio is probably the brand for you.

Their stand-out appeal is that they offer a customisable blanket. This allows you to choose your own size, weight, fabric, and cover pattern to make a blanket unique to your needs.

This is a great feature that we know is very popular, however, it does come at a cost. Customised blankets cannot be returned unless faulty. Plus, all of the Sommio blankets are fairly expensive.

That means they are a good choice if you have the cash, but there are better value for money options out there.

#3 – Gravity (Our Rating = 8.8)

Gravity Blankets Review

The Gravity weighted blanket is one that gets advertised quite heavily so you may have seen the brand before.

It’s a good weighted blanket that’s manufactured in Europe and offers payment plans to help spread the cost. They also have special handmade blankets designed for kids too.

However, for us, the quality just isn’t as high as some of the other brands. That means they score a little lower on value for money in our weighted blanket reviews.

The trial period is quite short at 28 days and the velvet cover feels very luxurious. The downside is it’s also very hot in summer.

#4 – BlanQuil (Our Rating = 8.5)

BlanQuil Review

As a brand that’s very popular in the US, you’re perhaps entitled to expect a little more from a BlanQuil blanket.

They’re decent blankets and you get a lot of different options to choose from. However, it feels like they’ve only half-heartedly made their blanket available in the UK.

Their website is entirely orientated to US customers. Sure, you can get them delivered to the UK but you’ll need to pay very high shipping and import fees. The blankets are listed on Amazon UK at times, but you’ll be lucky if it’s ever in stock.

All of this means it scores pretty poorly in our weight blanket reviews for the UK market.

#5 – SNUZI LIFE (Our Rating = 8.3)

SNUZI LIFE review

The SNUZI LIFE blanket has potential but we can’t help but feel it’s not yet living up to what it could become.

Firstly, there are stocking issues. You’ll be lucky if you find the product in stock, both on their official website and on Amazon UK.

Secondly, they only offer one type of weighted blanket (in 2 sizes and 3 weights) which is priced slightly above average. Though we should also mention there are several different covers you can buy to customise it.

There’s also very little information on their website about how they make the blankets and why they’re better than the rest. This all makes us feel a little uncomfortable about how much longer the company may be around for.

Do Weighted Blankets Really Work?

Ultimately, it depends on what you are looking to gain from using a weighted blanket. They definitely aren’t a ‘cure all’ solution.

Rather, they are a helping hand that many people suffering from anxiety or ADHD. They have also been reported to help with insomnia, stress, and restless leg syndrome.

Of course, no one can say for sure whether they will work for you. The anecdotal evidence is that many people do find them useful. The only way to be sure is to give one a try.

Most of the brands featured in our weighted blanket reviews UK do understand this. That’s why they usually offer some kind of trial or returns period. This lets you test it out and see if you notice the difference. Just be sure to check the terms carefully to avoid any nasty surprises.

What Are The Benefits Of Buying A Weighted Blanket?

How To Choose The Best Weighted Blanket To Buy

weighted blanket reviews UK

Checking weighted blanket reviews UK is one way to start narrowing down your choices. But, what else should you be looking at when trying to choose the best weighted blanket to buy?

Here are some questions you can ask youself:

Is the blanket available in the correct size & weight?

It’s probably the first question you need to ask yourself because if the answer is ‘no’ – it doesn’t matter if the blanket ticks every other box, it’s not the right one for you.

The size will depend on what you want it for and much you want to wrap yourself up in it. The weight will need to be around 10% of your body weight for the best effect.

Is the blanket a good blend of quality vs price?

In many ways, your budget will dictate how good the weighted blanket is that you buy. However, it’s not always the case the a higher price equals a better quality (or that a lower price means lower quality).

It’s important to check what the blanket is made of and how long the guarantee period is. This will give you a good indication of how good the quality is and how long the blanket is likely to last.

You don’t need to find the absolute finest quality blanket around, but you should at least try and get as high a quality as your budget can afford.

Will the blanket make you sweat?

By their nature, weighted blankets do tend to warm you up. However, that doesn’t mean they should make you overheat and sweat. If a blanket is making you sweat, there’s a good chance it’s not breathable.

Try and avoid synthetic fabrics as much as possible and certainly make sure you’re buying a blanket with glass beads. These won’t store the heat quite as much as lesser fillings such as plastic.

Is the weight evenly distributed?

The number of pockets a weighted blanket has is a good indication of how well it will keep the weight evenly distributed. This is essential as an uneven distribution of weight will reduce the benefits and may even lead to aches and pains!
